Abstract

185,604. Doman, J. P. Aug. 10, 1921. Self-levelling and suspension apparatus.-Relates to a self-levelling apparatus for beds, berths, tables, operating-tables, gun platforms, and similar articles adapted to be used in ships, of the type in which the article is supported at four or more points by members @ung from standards, opposite members being connected together by rods or like means. The standards are arranged on the deck in oppositelydisposed pairs as 2, and the shafts 3 from which the depending members 5, which carry the article 9 on rollers 7 on the upwardly inclined arms 6, are hung, have rollers 4 on which the adjacent curved ends 11 of the article 9, or a platform supporting the article, may rest. The rollers 7, 4 are transversely curved. In the case of a gun platform 15, a universal support or bearing 13, is provided under the normal centre of gravity and the supports are arranged radially. Locking-means such as a pivoted plate 12 may be employed to lock the depending members 5 in a desired position.
