401,180. Supporting steam boilers. MASCHINENFABRIK ESSLINGEN, Esslingen - on - Neckar, and GUNTHER, O., 30, Mettingerstrasse, Esslingen-on-Neckar, Wurtemberg, Germany. April 10, 1933, No. 10712. [Class 123 (ii).] Water-tube boilers for steam wagons, small locomotives, and like vehicles with a water-tube firebox 1 have an upper steam drum 5 rigidly connected at both ends by unheated down tubes 8-11 to the firebox foundation ring 3 and exclusively supported thereby. In addition to the wall tubes 4, the boiler heating surface includes tubes 6 connecting drum 5 with a drum 7 and an independent circuit comprising tubes 17 connecting drums 15, 18. A preheater comprising drums 22-25 connected by three water-tube banks and a superheater 32 are also provided.
