[Classes 38 (iii) and 38 (v).] Arc - rupturing devices. -Vehicle motors I-IV are arranged in groups, each group consisting of pair of motors connected in parallel, and in switching-off from running condition, Fig. 1, one motor of each group is first disconnected by opening of switches 1, 2, and then the main switch 3 is opened. In switching-off from rheostatic braking stages with cross-connected fields, Fig. 2, the switches 1, 2, are first opened, and then the switch 4.
