561,545. Control of D.C. motors. BAKER, W. S. GRAFF-. June 8, 1942, No. 7831. [Class 38 (iii)] Motors A ... F are started all in series and resistances Ra ... Re are cut out. Motor A is cut out by opening switch 16, closing switch 11 and opening switch 6. Similarly motors B and C are cut out in turn and then A, B and C are connected in series and inserted in parallel with group D, E, F. Thereafter C is cut-out and then D, whereupon C and Dare connected in series and inserted in parallel with group A, B and group E, F. In the final stages, A, D and F are cut-out in turn, leaving B, C and E in parallel and then A, D and F are in turn re-inserted in parallel so as to give an arrangement of six motors in parallel. Field weakening stages may be used.
