Abstract

400,914. Motor power plant. SELCO MOTOR CO. AKT.-GES., 16, Kungstradgardsgatan, Stockholm. Jan. 29, 1932, No. 2787. Void [Abridged as open to inspection under Sect. 91 of the Acts, Jan. 30, 1932]. [Class 110 (iii).] The plant deals with a combination of internal-combustion engine 1, exhaust gas engine 3, steam engine 2, and piston gas compressors 4 combined with the power engines. The reciprocating engines may be replaced by turbines. A charge enters through a pipe 6, burnt, and the exhaust passes through 7 and a container 8 to the plant 3, and then to a condenser 10 where water is precipitated to exhaust 11. The container 8 is a steam generator supplying the power cylinder 5. Condensate is forced by a feed pump 17 through a cooling jacket 18 and then to the container 8. The condenser vacuum is secured by suction of the compressors of plant 1 through the pipe 20. Water is injected through a pipe 28 into the exhaust gas entering engine 3, the water being obtained from atmospheric air drawn through a pipe 25 over a cooled plate 26. Plant 2 can also be operated by exhaust gas. In another arrangement the compressor chambers supply an ammoniac cooling plant, the pistons being acted upon by combustion gases. When the plant is used in connection with aircraft, the leading edges of the wings may be used for cooling surfaces.
