Class 53.] In order to enable a battery of any voltage to be readily made small groups of cells joined in series are provided with wire terminals in addition to the usual terminals. When a large batterv is to be made a number of groups are joined together by twisting and soldering the wire terminals. The Figure shows groups of cells 2 arranged in series and having in addition to the usual terminals 3 connecting wires 4 projecting from the sealing material. A battery is made by joining the required number of groups together by the wires 4 and placing them in a common casing 5.
