Abstract
399,647. Floors. CULLUM, D. J. W., 50, Britannia Street. King's Cross, London. Sept. 26, 1932, No. 26650. [Class 20 (iv).] A floor comprises a foundation A, a layer of metal or other slabs D supported by resilient pads B in such manner as to load or compress such strips and to provide an enclosed space between the slabs and the foundation, and a floor finish comprising floor boards F supported above the slabs D. The pads B, which may be of cork or felt, are secured at spaced distances to the undersurfaces of the joists E, as shown in Fig. 1, and the latter are provided with shoulders e<1> for supporting the slabs D. Alternatively, the slabs D are supported directly upon the pads B, as shown in Fig. 3, and are recessed at their upper edges to provide spaces for floor joists E. The floor boards F are secured to the upper faces of the joists. The Provisional Specification describes also the use of corrugated slabs D.
