[Class 26.] A disinfecting - apparatus for a water-waste-preventer comprises a disinfectant container A closed at the top and open at the bottom, to which is affixed a cylindrical support B apertured at b<3> and providing a closure b for the container; the latter accommodates a tube C the end of which is adapted to be covered or uncovered by a float D according to the depth of water in the cistern, the tube serving as a disinfectant outlet and also as an air inlet. In the form shown, the float is carried upon a tube d closed at d<1> and having an internal diameter larger than the external diameter of the tube C ; further, the support B is screwed on to the vessel A with the interposition of packing B<1> and is provided with a heavy closure-disc E having a projection e<1> serving to limit the travel of the float. In another form, the vessel A has a closable filling aperture and the disc E may be screwed into the support B, or may be provided with a screw instead of the projection el whereby the travel of the float may be regulated.
