Abstract
399,345. Water taps. LORQUET, M., 307, Rue de Merode, and ERNALSTEEN, R., 104, Rue de l'Eglise Ste. Anne, Koekel. berg, both in Brussels. Dec. 14, 1932, No. 35457. Convention date, Dec. 22, 1931. [Class 135.] In a screw-actuated lift valve of the kind operated by the discharge nozzle and wherein the valve is urged to closing position by the water pressure and closed down positively by the nozzle, the valve head is made of ovoid form supported on a solid stem and is adapted to close down upon an annular seat n of vulcanized rubber. The head may be fitted with a disc of rubber v with longitudinal peripheral grooves to provide a water way, the disc serving to damp out any noisy vibrations of the valve in the tap body. The valve stem i is secured to a crossbar arrangement f<1> in the nozzle d by a screw pin t<1> giving slight longitudinal play. In a modification the valve spindle end is grooved to receive a split washer which is secured in a socket in the crossbar arrangement by a screw plug.
