Abstract

398,687. Dynamometers. HUGHES, A. T., 15, Avenue Bel Air, Uccle, Belgium, Dec. 8, 1932, No. 34754. [Class 106 (ii).] A flexible bag 1 filled with incompressible liquid is located between two telescoping cup - shaped members 2, 3 and is in communication with a pressure gauge 4 to indicate the force with which the members 2, 3 are pressed together. The inner and outer walls of the inner cup-shaped member are of tapered cross section. The apparatus may be inserted in the device for adjusting the rollers of rolling mills to indicate pressure between the rollers. The apparatus may constitute the bed of a bearing or a step bearing or itself act as a stop.
