398,489. Fire-resisting sliding-doors. BOOTH, J., BOOTH, T., BOOTH, C. H., Hulton Steelworks, Bolton, and MORRIS, J. H., Shanklin, Channing Road, Lytham-St. Annes, Lancashire. March 9, 1932, No. 7108. [Class 20 (iii).] Doors for factories, warehouses, and the like, and particularly fireproof doors, comprise pivotally connected slats 1 held in a rigid frame composed of channels or the like 2 connected by corner gussets 3. The ends of the slats may have smoke stops and buckling is prevented by projections 7 on the frame and hooks 6 on the door at the hinged edge and triple-point fastening on the opposite edge with the top and bottom frame members and middle of the adjacent door or frame. On sliding doors, a flange on the forward edge engages in a recess in the frame and, at the rear, a double-bent member engages an angle-member in the frame to prevent buckling when closed. The hangers for sliding doors comprise ball-bearing flanged rollers 14 engaging tracks 15 supported on plates 18 and upper and lower guiding flanges 21, 20 engage recesses in the frame.
