Abstract

Nov. 28, 1927, Sliding doors.-A folding-sliding fire-resisting door is suspended from a top track by rollers &c. 3 in axial alignment with the hinge axes 7 between the pairs of leaves, and is guided by devices such as rollers 5 engaging a guide-bar 6 projecting upwardly from the floor. The lower guiding device has a three-point contact with the bar 6 and preferably consists of three rollers 5 mounted on a plate swivelling on a downward extension of the hinge-pin. An end panel may be made to hinge independently and may be guided by a second spaced bar 10 and a spring-pressed bolt 11. Two spring-controlled levers 21, 23, Fig. 4, may be provided on the opening panel to open it automatically when unlocked. The leaves of the door are preferably of steel having flanges, and if desired may be corrugated or have strengthening ribs secured or welded intermediately thereto. Holes 14 in the guide-bar 6 permit water to flow out.
