Abstract

[Also in Divisions E1-E2] A second-proof double folding door comprises two laterally spaced parallel folding doors 48 interconnected at the opposite ends to form a hollow chamber 50 and sealing strips 52 on each panel at the top and bottom to seal against the adjacent surface 38, and the floor respectively and an overhead track unit 10 incorporating an air release construction whereby the air residing in the hollow door chamber 50 can easily escape, thereby allowing for a free folding or opening movement of the door. To this end the track unit comprises a pair of laterally spaced overhead tracks 16 mounted on e.g. a door opening header 12 on each side of a spacer 10 the tracks carrying flanges 22 to support an elongated panel 30 enclosing the bottom of the chamber 32 formed by the tracks and surfaces 16 and flanges 20 and extending substantially the length of the tracks, the panel 30 having a plurality of vertical holes 34 therethrough to put the chamber 32 into communication with the door chamber 50, and ease the flow of air when the door is collapsed to open position.
