Abstract

The frame section comprises an extruded metal profile with its centre (1) in the form of a hollow square provided with a slit (2) in the top face, running longitudinally along its length. the bottom face is extended on each side to form two flanges (3, 3'). After cutting and assembling sections to form a frame, the glass is held against the flanges by the application of an adhesive also providing the seal. Dessicant is packed inside the hollow square, the slit being in the space between the glass. Multiple glazing is possible by increasing the number of hollow square sections.
