Abstract

397,974. Cases for cigarettes &c. LATHAM, H. G. and LATHAM, H. J., 4, Ablewell Street, Walsall. May 14, 1932, No. 13875. [Classes 18 and 133.] In a flap-closed, flexible, e.g. leather, pocket case for cigarettes &c. of the kind provided with a U-shaped stiffening frame 9 the vertical arms of which are joined by a strip 11, the latter is corrugated so that cigarettes &c. can be positioned in the recesses on both sides of the strip. The ends of the strip are flattened and riveted &c. to the frame, and they are also supported by detents 16 raised out of the vertical arms. The case comprises a front and a back section sewn together at the edges ; and the back carries an integral closure flap which is fastened by means of a tongue on the flap and a strip held in slots'on the front of the case. Two pockets each with a frame can be adapted to fold together and be closed by a single flap. The tops of the cigarettes can be protected by a horizontal strip constituting a fourth side to the frame 9, this strip being secured to the closure flap and moving away with it when it is opened.
