Abstract

304,471. Brooks & Co., Ltd., J. B., and Horden, H. R. Jan. 20, 1928. Bags.-Relates to bags &c. having rectangular mouths the ends of which are fitted with inwardly folding two-part struts which fold together when the bag &c. is closed. According to the invention the front and rear edges of the bag are stiffened by separate strips 6, 6 located in closed pockets 7, 7, and the ends are fitted with separate inwardly folding two-part struts 9, 9, in pockets 11, 11. The struts 9, 9 may be of the type described in Specification 304,910. A stiffened angle or channel sectioned hood 13 may be hinged to the rear edge of the bag or case to cover the mouth of the bag in the closed position. The bottom of the bag may be stiffened by two boards hinged together along the centre so that the bag can be folded longitudinally. The pockets for the struts &c. may be formed by stitching on a piece of lining, or by folding over the top edges of the bag. In a modification straps are secured to the rear stiffening strip for attaching the bag to a bicycle. An outside pocket and a strap which passes completely around the bag may be added thereto.
