Abstract
397,771. Railway-vehicle undercarriages. KRUCKENBERG, F. and STEDE. FELD, C., 16B, Ellernstrasse, Hanover, Germany. Feb. 9, 1933, No. 4019. Convention date, Feb. 10, 1932. [Class 103 (vi).] In a guiding-arrangement for the axles of railway vehicle trucks or bogies means are provided at one point, e.g. at the bearings, for suppressing only the longitudinal movement, and at a different point, e.g. midway between the bearings, for suppressing only the transverse movement. In the construction shown, the truck frame 18, Fig. 1, is provided inside the wheels with horn guides 19, 20, Fig. 2, for preventing longitudinal movement of the axle casings 12, 13 in which the axles 10, 11 are borne. Between the axle casings and the horn guides are interposed strips 21, 22 having either parallel faces, or, for adjustment purposes, having a wedge form. On the centre line of the truck the axle casings are fitted with projecting pins 16, on which are mounted blocks 17, Fig. 4, guided vertically between strips 24, 25 engaging horn guides on transverse frame members 23, these guides preventing the transverse movements of the axles. Conveniently the guide strips 20, 21, 24, 25 may be made of a self-lubricating material, e.g. a moulded material containing graphite.
