Abstract

397,200. Vibration-dampers. WESTERN ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Bush House, Aldwych, London.-(Bell Telephone Laboratories, Inc. ; 463, West Street, New York, U.S.A.) Feb. 24, 1932, Nos. 5563 and 8410. [Class 108 (iii).] Uniform rotary motion is imparted to a shaft 6, such as the shaft of the sound sprocket of an optical sound recording or reproducing machine, having a heavy rotatable member 30 rigidly secured thereon, by means of a driven rotary member 10, 11 journalled on the shaft, a hub member 12 secured on the shaft, a plurality of springs 13 connecting the member 11 and the hub 12, and a cylinder of felt 25 or the like connecting the members 10, 30. In one form, each spring 13 has one end connected to a pin 15 on the member 11 secured to the pinion 10 and its other end connected to a pin 14 on the hub member 12 pinned to the shaft and to a driving sprocket 1 for a film 2. The cylinder 25 is provided with facing rings 24, 34 and screws 35 facilitate adjustment of the compressive load on the felt. The flywheel is connected to the shaft by means of a set-screw 31 engaging a stud 32 which engages in a recess 33 formed in the shaft 6. An anti-friction bearing 19 .. 22 relieves friction between the pinion 10 and the hub of the member 12. Specification 373,751, [Group XXXVIII], is referred to in the first Provisional Specification.
