Abstract

384,954. Disc brakes applied by speed - responsive devices. MILLER, K. W., 47, Elmbridge Road, Gloucester. Feb. 25, 1932, No. 22624. Divided on 382,509, [Group XX]. [Class 103 (i).] A governor for a portable kinematograph camera comprises a normally stationary friction plate 44 adjustable by an inclined disc 47 carried by a rotary spindle 45, and a friction plate 43 rotating with a shaft 37 driven from the spring motor or other prime mover of the machine and carrying weighted arms 40 which move the plate 43 along the shaft. The weights 41 are in the form of rollers one of which engages a semicircular groove 42 in the plate 43. The friction disc 44 is mounted on the shaft 37 and has an arm 49, with a U-shaped end 50 embracing the spindle 45 or a sleeve thereon. A lug 48 on the arm 49 forms therewith a recess for engagement by the inclined disc 47.
