Abstract
396,693. Pivoted-sliding windows. WOODS, S. W., Farmer's Arms, Simonswood, near Liverpool. Jan. 6, 1932, No. 373. [Class 20 (iii).] The sliding window 5 of a fowl-house 1, or other structure, is adapted for floating pivotal movement about its upper edge by the provision of pins 6 which slide in vertical guides 7, and is held in a number of positions, at a slight angle to the vertical, by means of stops on the surrounding framework. In the construction shown, a catch 8 is provided on the lower edge of the sash and engages with a stop 9 when the sash is closed and with stops 10 or 11 when the sash is lowered. A further stop means is provided by fixed pins 13 with which undercut corner portions 12 of the sash engage, the pins being mounted on side-pieces 14 disposed one on either side of the sash. An ordinary hinged sash 2 is mounted above the sash 5.
