Abstract

396,566. Casting-machines. HUNDT & WEBER GES., Geisweid, Siegen, Westphalia, Germany. Sept. 5, 1932, No. 24700. Convention date, Sept. 4, 1931. [Class 83 (i).] The mould of a centrifugal casting-machine is driven through friction-wheel and disc, variable-speed gearing of which the wheel 7 is moved axially by means of an electric motor 19 which rotates screws 13 in nuts formed integrally with a collar 9 supporting the wheel but allowing rotation thereof. The shaft 22 of the disc 21 is urged to the left by a spring or weight 27, is driven by a motor 24 and can be stopped by a brake 31 operared by an electromagnet. Electric contacts are arranged to limit the axial movement of the wheel and to bring it into its lowest position when the motor 24 is stopped. A speedometer may be provided.
