[Class 83 (i)] Electricity, heating by.-A centrifugal casting- machine has a portion of the metal in the mould heated by induction. The mould 8, 9 is held in a holder 15, which can be rotated by its shaft 16, by centrifugal locks 17 and the part 8 is surrounded by a water-cooled, induction-heating coil 21 which is energized while pouring and while the body 12 solidifies. When the axis of rotation is not the same as that of the body, the coil 41, Fig. 2, is energized by slip rings 44. The central reservoir 39 may feed a number of moulds 38.
