Abstract
1,252,040. Centrifugal casting processes. DAIMLER-BENZ A.G. 12 Sept., 1969 [14 Sept., 1968], No. 45165/69. Heading B3F. A centrifugally cast cylinder liner or bearing bush is made of cast iron having a pearlitic matrix and contains more than 4% of carbon present as graphite in lamellor form. It may contain elements which promote the pearlitic form and the formation of graphite, and elements such as Cu, Ni and Mo for increasing the tensile strength. The casting is effected using a higher melt temperature and higher centrifugal speed than previously used for cast iron.
