Abstract

<PICT:0396070/III/1> <PICT:0396070/III/2> Multicoloured candles are obtained by passing separated differently coloured continuous rods or ribbons of candle material simultaneously through a heating zone to soften the surfaces, converging them about a central wick while passing through a cooling zone, and cutting off candle lengths. For example, differently coloured candle pastes are forced through holes 1<1> into compartments 2<1> of a heating chamber 2, wick is drawn through a central passage 10, and the whole is compacted at the lower end E and extruded through a nozzle 7 having a cooling jacket 5. The compartments 2<1> are formed by hollow radial partitions 3 through which steam or hot water circulates or which contain electric or other heaters.
