Abstract

The process of drying artificial silk claimed in the parent Specification is modified by drying the spun cakes in a vacuum. Heat may be supplied to the inside of the cakes by heating bodies, e.g. tubes, or a drying medium may be fed thereto. Measured quantities of steam or vapour may enter the drying space intermittently or continuously.
