Abstract

<PICT:0425754/IV/1> <PICT:0425754/IV/2> In a process for drying spun cakes of artificial silk, as claimed in the parent Specification, the cakes 4, given a polygonal shape, are assembled together in honeycomb-like layers during the drying operation, whereby intermediate spaces between the cakes are reduced to a minimum. Each layer of cakes is preferably covered by plates 5 which sink as the cakes shrink.
