395,486. Hand-stamps; printing- surfaces. CRAMER, H., GRANT, H., and BOUTLE & CO., Ltd., Riley Street, Bermondsey, London. May 9, 1932, No. 13332. [Class 100 (ii).] In a hand-stamp for printing on convex surfaces, such as cylindrical or curved containers, jars, &c., rubber dies mounted on a flexible metallic backing are interchangeable and their curvature is adjustable. As shown, rubber types 1 are cemented to a metal spring 2 which is slid into grooves in a clip 3 carried by a rod 6 mounted within the stem 7 of a yoke 5 the ends 4 of which form supports for the ends of the spring 2. By turning a nut 8, the rod 6 may be adjusted to curve the die to the desired extent, a handle 9 forming a lock for the nut. The device may be mounted in a casing 11 provided with V-shaped or curved extensions adapted to seat on the curved surface of a container 13 ; the position of the impression may be registered by means of a gauge 14 adjustably mounted on the casing 11 and adapted to rest on either end of the container. To facilitate registration with a panel at any height on the container 13, the casing 11 may have duplicate guiding parts into either of which the device may be positioned.
