Abstract

395,396. Condensers. ROGERS, W., 4, Druidsville Road, Calderstones, and WINGROVE & ROGERS, Ltd., Mill Lane, Old Swan, both in Liverpool. Jan. 13, 1932, No. 978. [Class 38 (ii).] In a gang condenser the rotor vane system 10 is mounted in the frame as a complete unit and is held against axial and radial displacement by bearings, each consisting of two parts, a lower semi-circular portion 16 mounted in or forming part of an end plate 5. and an upper part 19 having a curved bearing surface '19a and spring extension arms 20, the ends bearing hooks 21 to engage in apertures 22. The action of the spring arms is to hold the rotor shaft 11 in the bearings and also by pressure of the part 19b against abutments 24 on the rotor shaft to prevent endwise movement.
