Abstract
394,299. Gas generators. HUMPHREYS & GLASGOW, Ltd., Humglas House, Carlisle Place, London.-(Assignees of Hall, E. L. ; Broad Street, Philadelphia, U.S.A.) Sept. 14, 1931, No. 25720. Convention date, Nov. 28, 1930. Void [Published under Sect. 91 of the Acts]. [Class 55 (i).] In a generator having the lower part of its wall formed as a metallic jacket containing a liquid having a boiling point higher than that of water, such as diphenyl, diphenyloxide, or mercury, the liquid or its vapour is circulated through a heat exchanger for the generation of steam. Vapour from the jacket 9 of a generator 1 passes through a pipe 13 to a water tube boiler 15 wherein the vapour is condensed and returned to the jacket and steam is produced. In a modification the cooling liquid is kept below its boiling point by the pressure in the jacket, liquid being circulated in the heat exchanger instead of vapour.
