366,782. Water gas and coal gas generation. HUMPHREYS & GLASGOW, Ltd. and GRIGGS, A. R., Humglas House, Carlisle Place, London. March 23, 1931, No. 8848. [Class 55 (i).] In the manufacture of water gas and coal gas by a complete gasefication process employing a gasefication chamber a, carbonizing chamber b, and superheating chamber c, a steam injector m is provided to circulate gas and steam through the superheater c, and chambers a, b, to ensure sufficient heating of the coal in chamber b. Surplus gas is withdrawn by a pipe f leading to a seal box h. Up and down runs may be made by admitting steam through inlets r, s respectively, the up-run gas passing through chamber b and pipes f, g, and the down-run gas through the superheater c and pipe g to storage. An air blast pipe p and secondary air inlet q are provided.
