Abstract
394,100. Junction boxes. SYKES & DYSON, Ltd., SYKES, P., and COOPER, W., Queen's Mill Road, Huddersfield. April 5, 1932, No. 9700. [Class 38 (i).] Multicore cables are connected up, even when their respective conductors are out of alignment, by means of slidable units, each mounted on a cross conducting-bar and consisting of a conducting member and an insulated member adapted to be coupled by a removable link. As shown applied to a box for four cables, the units slide on pairs of connected bars such as f, fl, &c., disposed in compartments e<1> &c. The member f<3> of a unit is in electrical contact with the bar f and through this and a bridge j also with the parallel bar f<1>. The companion member f<4> is insulated from the bar f, is coupled with the member f<3> by a link m, and is provided with a depending stalk f<7> for connection with a cable conductor. The stalks of the units mounted on one bar extend in one direction while those pertaining to the other bar in the compartment concerned extend in the opposite direction.
