[Classes 79 (ii) and 79 (iii).] The power unit a is centrally-disposed in the vehicle frame with its crank shaft crossing the centre line X-X of the vehicle and is connected by a direct drive to the driving wheel d through a gear-box e and a connecting shaft h having flexible couplings k, l. The gear-box is driven through a clutch f and the wheel d is driven through worm or bevel gearing. The invention is shown applied to a cycle but is stated to be applicable to light vehicles with three or four wheels.
