[Class 40 (v).] In a superheterodyne receiver second-channel interference is reduced by connecting the grid of the first valve to the aerial both through the ordinary tuned circuit and also through a con. denser. Alternatively the condenser may be connected between the aerial and the plate or the screening grid of the valve. The Figure shows the aerial coupled to the valve V1 over a band-pass filter L3, C3, L4, C4 and over condenser C6 The Specification gives numerical values of the components used and a formula showing how the neutralization of second. channel interference may be obtained over a large frequency range.
