Abstract

391,036. Cable cappings and couplings. FIEGE, H. C., 1342, South State Street, Green Bay, Wisconsin, U.S.A., and MORROW SCREW & NUT CO., Ltd., Ingersoll, Ontario, Canada. Oct. 7, 1932, No. 27959. [Class 109.] Each of the two ends to be joined is passed through the hollow centre of an externally screw-threaded member 17, the end is frayed, and the strands are placed in grooves in a wedge 21 of double conical form. The member 17 is thereafter screwed into a member 13, and the members 13, 17 inserted in a turnbuckle 10. A recess 16 is provided in the member 13 to receive the ends of the strands. The turnbuckle 10 may be dispensed with, and the member 13 formed integrally with an eye or a swivel hook.
