390,933. Double-beat valves. HOLMES, V. W., 137, Highbury New Park, London. March 3, 1932, No. 6390. [Class 135.] In a double beat valve in order to allow for the use of such valve areas as will ensure true balance one of the seatings consists of -a divided spring ring 20 which is sprung over one of the valve beats and is secured to its cage 16 by screwing in direct, as shown, or by a force fit in a cylindrical recess, or by a screwed tapered clamping ring. The ends of the seating ring may have tongue-and-groove engagement, or there may be a gap completed by an insertion segment.
