Abstract

390,857. Indirect lighting &c. lamps. KNIGHT, G. H. F., 48, Pont Street, Chelsea, London. Oct. 9, 1931, No. 8996/33. Divided on 390,830. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv).] Reflectors.-A reflector, particularly applicable for indirect lighting lamps, comprises a major portion 13 conforming substantially to the inside convex surface of a torus and merging into a mirror portion 15 which conforms substantially to the outside concave surface of a smaller torus, the generating curve of each torus being a circle. The reflector is formed with an opening 17 to receive an electric lamp bulb 18 and with a substantially tubular flange 11 having a beading 12. The latter rests upon an inner ring 23 connected by radial stays 22 to an outer ring 21 which is fitted into a recessed flange 20 of a casing 19 supported by chains 30, the casing 19 being of similar shape to the reflector and having an oxidized copper finish. A bowl 25 having its inner surface painted white or polished is supported by means of strips 24 so as to reflect some light on to the outside of the casing 19. The bulb 18 is adjustably mounted in the bowl 25 by means of one or more threaded sleeves 27 and a locking ring 28. Specification 163,743, [Class 75 (ii), Lamp chimneys &c.], is referred to.
