Abstract
389,636. Fastenings ; pivots. NEWTON, R. S., 41, Fountain Street, Manchester. Feb. 13, 1932, No. 4296. [Classes 44 and 65 (ii).] A stair-carpet holder of the type in which the carpet is held by a pivoted arm fixed to the rise of the step comprises a base-plate A with four V- shaped indents a in which engage corresponding projections b on the pivoted arm B. The arm B has a recess b<1> housing a spring D and pivot C ; the base plate is secured to the step rise at a<2>. Alternatively the recess b<1> may be formed in the baseplate, and the indents a may be made in the arm B and the projections b on the base-plate.
