388,643. Waterproofing paper &c. DEHN, F. B., 103, Kingsway, London.- (International Bitumen Emulsions Corporation ; 100, West 10th Street, Wilmington, Delaware, U.S.A.) June 27, 1932, No. 18117. [Classes 96 and 140.1 Paper, pasteboard, &c. is made with asphalt, montan wax, resin, &c. added finely divided, to the pulp, e.g. in the beater and a fluxing agent, e.g. oils or solvents subsequently applied to one or both sides of the web by rolls, brushes or sprays prior to or subsequently to completion of drying. Clay, talc, &c. may be added to the pulp and a wetting agent for the asphalt &c. may be used. In an example, pre-cooled asphalt is finely ground and suspended in water with a wetting agent, and mixed with pulp, and to the web formed, the fluxing agent, e.g. a residual oil of petroleum, is added.
