Abstract

293,238. Azzopardi, J. Sept. 29, 1927. Ink. - A petroleum asphalt or pitch obtained as a residue after steam distillation is used in conjunction with light mineral oils, such as mineral turpentine, as the major part or the whole of the vehicle for printing inks, especially for newspaper inks. Viscous mineral oils may be included. The asphalt if black may replace part of the lampblack or other black pigment. For better quality inks, ordinary turpentine, colophony, and manganese resinate may be added.
