Abstract
388,499. Gas-washing plant. GROVES, W. W., 30, Southampton Buildings, London.-(Otto & Co., Ges., Dr. C.; 9, Christstrasse, Bochum, Germany.) Nov. 19, 1931, No. 32117. [Class 55 (ii).] In a coal gas-washing plant comprising a final direct water cooler c, a benzol washer g and a direct oil cooler k, the oil-discharged from the water cooler c is continuously imparted to the benzol wash oil entering the oil cooler k. The gas is preliminarily sprayed with warm benzol wash oil in a lower part b of the water cooler c, before entering the latter. The cooled gas passes through pipe e to the ammonia plant and enters the benzol washer g through a pipe f. The oil required in the washer b is circulated from the benzol washer g through a preheater h, and before returning to the oil cooler k is stripped of benzol, naphthalene &c. in a separator i.
