Abstract

387,458. Folding mangles and wringers. TAYLOR & WILSON, Ltd., WILSON, A., and WILSON, H., Taywil Works, Accrington. Dec. 1, 1931, No. 33241. [Class 138 (ii).] In a wringing or mangling machine which is convertible into a table by folding and in which the table is detachable from the machine, a bracket A at one end of the table B is provided with a slot C which is open at one end to receive and engage the end of a stay rod D or a stud mounted in the machine frame. Pivoted to the bracket A is a gravity catch E which is provided with an inclined surface e so that when the rod D is pressed against that surface, the catch E is displaced and allows the rod D to enter the slot C whereupon the catch returns to its closed position. The catch E may be moved to release the rod D, by the engagement with a lug e<1> of the end f of a slide F mounted on the bracket A and provided with a handle f<1>. In a modification, Fig. 2, the lug e<1> is replaced by a finger e<2> for lifting the catch, a projection a on the table A preventing the catch E from turning too far.
