Abstract

378,798. Tables. SCHMITHUS—N, H., 21, Marsstrasse, Xanten, Rhineland, Germany. Feb. 17, 1932, No. 4757. Convention date, March 2, 1931. [Class 52 (iii).] An ironing-board which may consist of two pivoted parts 1, 2 is provided with depending guides 6 which are pivotally and slidably mounted on a stirrup 5 pivotally mounted in the two side members 4 of a table frame. The table top 3 is slidable on the frame ; when it is pushed back, the stirrup can be raised to bring the board to operative position. A longitudinal strengthening rib 8 is provided beneath the board, and a locking device 9 co-operating with a recess 10 is fitted for holding the board in the inoperative position. In the operative position the board rests on blocks 7, the guides 6 being recessed at 6a to slide beneath the blocks.
