Abstract

High-speed steel containing 1-10 per cent of zirconium is obtained by adding zirconium or an alloy such as ferro-zirconium or cobalt-zirconium to the known high-speed steel which contains iron, tungsten, and chromium as essential components with or without vanadium, cobalt or molybdenum as subsidiary components.
