Abstract

386,601. Capillary-action lubricating. DELEPIERRE, F., 57, Rue Clarisse, Haubourdin, France. Sept. 15, 1932, No. 25687. Convention date, Sept. 24, 1931. [Class 12 (iii).] The drum shaft 1 of a self-acting mule is supported in a half brass 5 carried by a bracket 16 and is lubricated by a felt pad 10 which is provided with a wick 9 arranged within an arcuate oil - box 8 carried by the bracket 16 and which is pressed against the shaft by a spring 11 acting against a part 12 of the pad, which is guided in grooves or between runners in the box. A spring plate 13 closes the end of the box and an opening through which the spring 11 is inserted, and is retained in position by being sprung into recesses 14, 15. Alternatively, the pad 10 may have an extension which serves to close the end of the box. A ribbon 18 is attached to the pad to facilitate its withdrawal from the box.
