Abstract

208,229. Radcliffe, F. Sept. 14, 1922. Vehicle-axle bearings.-A bearing has a brass 12 surmounted by a reservoir 13 from which lubricant passes through ducts 26 to an axle 11. A tube 21 indicates when the reservoir 13 requires refilling. The bearing housing 10 has a flange 14 overhanging the reservoir 13 which has centering wings 29 with impact ears 31 and webs 30. The bottom of the reservoir 13 may be dished and rods 27 facilitate the flow of lubricant to the bearing surface.
