Abstract

386,493. Couplings; clamps. BECKER, S. P., 39, Corlies Avenue, Poughkeepsie, New York, U.S.A. April 20, 1932, No. 11350. [Class 38 (i).] A clamp comprising a pair of members 10, 15 with projecting jaws 9, 11, one member sliding in the other and moved relatively thereto by a screw 19 passing through both members, forms a coupling-member for two or more wires 22, 23 that are gripped between the jaws. The overhanging edges of the jaws are provided with inclined faces 12, 16 or with interengaging projections and recesses to retain the wires therein. In order to increase the gripping surface a pair of clamps may constiture one coupling-member. A lug bored and fitted with screws to receive a branch wire may be formed on the clamp.
