[Class 38 (v).] In order to reduce the cross section of wire in the magnet windings of small circuit-breakers, and to enable a small thermal element to be used, the winding is divided into two parallel-connected parts c, d and the thermal element t or its heating coil is connected in series with one part. The parts c, d may have different numbers of turns so as to adapt the thermal element to a particular current value, or coils with different gauges of wire may be employed for this purpose.
