[Class 40 (v).] In a superheterodyne receiver, the degree of coupling of the local oscillator 5 to the rest of the receiver is dependent on frequency in the opposite sense to the normal amplitude variation of the local oscillations at the grid of the detector 9. The oscillator consists of a valve with inductive back-coupling 6 and capacitative coupling 3 to the anode circuit 2 of a high-frequency amplifier 1.
