Abstract
384,430. Boiler bearings. WING. QUIST, S. G., Remningstorp, Skara, Sweden. Nov. 30, 1931, No. 33197. Convention date, Dec. 2, 1930. [Class 12 (i).] In a roller bearing having rollers 4 with a convex rolling surface each roller contacts one of the races at a single point K and the other race at two points K1, K2, the contact points being arranged so that the pressures acting on the roller are balanced in all directions. This is effected by arranging the normals to the races at the points K, K1, K2, to pass through a common point as shown. In the illustrated construction for a double-row roller bearing, the profiles of the races are circular arcs and the straight line passing through the points K1, K2, and the axis of the roller, intersect the bearing axis at a common point. In a modification for a single row bearing, the inner race at the points K1, K2, is conical.
