Abstract
384,431. Roller bearings. WING- QUIST, S. G., Remningstorp, Skara, Sweden. Nov. 30, 1931, No. 33198. Convention date, July 29. Addition to 384,430. [Class 12 (i).] A double row roller bearing according to the parent Specification has a guide member 8 arranged between the rows of rollers 3. As shown, the guide member 8 is in the form of a ring carried by the roller spacing cage 7 the outer diameter of the ring being greater than the bore of the outer race ring 1 at the edges thereof so that, to assemble the ring, it has to be deformed elastically. The contacting faces of the rollers 3 and ring 8 may be spherical, the centre of the generating sphere being located on the bearing axis 10. The ring 8 may be formed of two rings arranged side by side and it may float on the rollers or its perimeter may engage the outer race track. In a modification, two rings 8 are provided, one encircling and the other located within the roller spacing cage. In another modification, the ring 8 is formed of two rings side by side and engages the bore of the spacing cage and the inner race track.
